Unsold Chicanos Oldies

Unsoldchicano.com is a site I created for all Oldies fans to come gather and enjoy this beautiful music of an era gone by also,in helping in the preservation of this fine music, from the great sounds of a 4 or 5 member Vocal Harmony Group (Doo Wop) , to the Solo Soul Artist.
These artists poured their hearts and feelings out into a microphone, singing songs of Falling In and Out Love, Betrayal, Pain, Misery, Cheating, Forgiving and of course the I am Sorry songs don't we all just love those..

No lyrics bragging about stuff they own like Money, Cars, Jewelry none of that heard in this fine music, just straight music from the heart and soul.

I feel like our Genre of music is not being heard as much like it was when I was growing up in the early 80s.
If You are from Los Angeles especially in EAST LOS or My Neighborhood LINCOLN HEIGHTS aka THE HEIGHTS or no matter what Barrio you were from or grew up in, If There was Raza on your block most likely someone was playing Oldies, heres an example,, as you walk by YOUR HOMIES CANTON(house)and you hear a tune.... "SOMEBODY PLEASE.. GIVE ME JUST A MINUTE",or "OH MY ANGEL...COME BACK TO ME" while they wash the Ranfla(car)getting it all shined up for the night cruise, it seemed like it was heard everywhere you went. Yeah, I bet some of you are smiling now ha ,You Know What Im Talking About!!!

Today, well I DONT WANT TO EVEN TALK ABOUT IT!!!....

So I feel I have to help pass it on to the new generation like it was passed down to me. Thats the reason Why I built this site, Not To Make MONEY or become some kind of Radio Personality,,I just do it for the LOVE I have for The MUSIC .. NOTHING ELSE!. JUST TRYING TO KEEP IT ALIVE!!!

I have heard and collected Oldies most of my life, and I continue to do so from 45s to Lps all Vinyl, ..I even got a few 8 track tapes LOL but I mainly concentrate on Vinyl.And that is all I play on my show I collect all oldies from the Classics to my favorite the Rare Oldies from Soul to DooWop.

Recording The First Show Was A little hard Lots Of buttons to Push On That Mix Board and Leveling The Mics Too Much info On My First Rcording To Absorb But I Got It on Lock Now Baby!
I have Listened to Oldies All My Life THANKS TOO my UNCLE UNSOLDCHICANO ,I Listen To All Oldies From The Rare To The Ones We Call In The Oldies World "Mainstream or Common Oldies" Its All Good Music To My Ears.
There Is Nothing Out There In Todays Music That I can Honestly Say That I Like Its Just Dont Hit My Heart Or Soul.
Everyone That I Meet or Know on A Personal Level Tell Me "DAMM JOHNNY You Were Born In The Wrong Era" "You Are Too Young To Be Listening To This Music"they Say... Im Honestly starting to think that I Was Born In The Wrong Era..... LoL..

Whats up!!! Eveyrone....My name is =JoHnNy B GooD= and I host the Monday Night Souldies Show. I do it for the love of the music as it takes you on a trip down memory lane, up fantasy avenue, and through heartbreak alley. The lyrics of the Souldies, as I like to call them, are unlike any other. The pain, the strife, the sorrow that many of us growing up in the neighborhood is felt through those words. Then on top of that is the powerful soulful voices of many great artists, many of which did not get commercial success, that sing their story with such emotion that it is still felt all these years later. We all got memories of hearing certain songs that remind us of people, places, or events in our life, whether it be good or bad. I started out by my Dad. He'd always be with his primos drinking in the driveway bumpin the jams like Thee Midniters, Sunny Ozuna, Little Joe, the Jives and many more. He always tells me of how he bought his first Midniters record in 1964 at the swapmeet. Then my brother started his collection and the unknown songs and artists out there got me hooked realizing that there was so much more talent out there then what was pushed towards the public. Now with the �new� oldies we continue to make memories every weekend. Its stuff like that, that makes the music special, plus the music today is all computers and with no substance. I enjoy real instruments with lyrics that mean something. Call me old fashioned but theres nothing like hearing that jam about that special girl! I could go on and on about music, so feel free to hit me up anytime. The feeling is unlike anything else when your with all your loved ones enjoying life and listening to this great music.
